Nestled in the heart of Peru's Rio Abiseo Natural Park, the Alto el Sol plantation is a true biodiversity treasure. Located in the Pachiza region of San Martín province, the plantation enjoys an ideal climate, with annual rainfall of 1600 mm and an average temperature of 27°C. This exceptional environment, protected by an abundance of lush vegetation, provides the cocoa trees with an unmatched aromatic richness.

Cocoa is grown here with care by the Saavedra del Castillo family, along with six other farmers. The cocoa beans are fermented in wooden boxes for 6 to 8 days, then naturally sun-dried on a concrete floor, to reveal the full richness of their aromas.

Alto El Sol 65% dark couverture chocolate in particular is a true vintage, with a unique aromatic profile that evolves over the years. Its red fruit notes and dominant acidity make Alto El Sol 65% an intense, highly fruity chocolate, with a remarkably lasting taste.

With a minimum cocoa content of 65% and a fat content of 37%, this BIO-certified dark couverture chocolate is perfect for all your culinary creations.

When you purchase this Cacao Barry product, you contribute to a sustainable cocoa industry through the Cocoa Horizons Foundation, which supports the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, ALTO EL SOL 65% chocolate meets the FAIRTRADE requirements.
